Accessibility practices

Pages should support keyboard navigation, visible focus, logical heading order, scalable text, adequate color contrast, descriptive link text, and controls with clear labels.

Meaningful images should have useful alternative text. Decorative images should not distract screen-reader users. Video and audio, if added later, should include appropriate captions, transcripts, or descriptions.

Addresses, prices, times, temperatures, quantities, and restaurant details should remain easy to scan on small screens. Maps may supplement written directions but should never be the only way to navigate neighborhood content.

Testing and known limitations

The site does not claim conformance with a specific accessibility standard without documented testing. Accessibility should be checked with keyboard-only use, text zoom, multiple viewport sizes, and common assistive-technology patterns.

Third-party services added later may introduce limitations. Forms, embeds, reservation tools, and media players should be reviewed before use and described honestly when a barrier cannot be fixed immediately.

Report a barrier

A useful report names the page, the task you were trying to complete, what happened, and the device, browser, or assistive technology involved. Do not include sensitive information.

Direct accessibility reports are not currently available because Nashville Food does not yet publish a monitored contact address. When reporting becomes available, it will request only the information needed to understand the barrier.
